Great info you have in this post, thanks. I have recently started to build my own websites using WordPress at the moment, but further down the line i would like to start using something a bit more robust. I have heard XSite Pro is good, that maybe my next venture, just need to make a bit more money from my WP sites first :-)

Richard was also interesting on the detail of how the BBC has broken down silos to restructure into editorial teams delivering news on multiple platforms. For example he set up a whole team listening and interacting social media sites like twitter, live in real time.
What is interesting is that government (as well as commercial organisations) are becoming more like media brands-offering a kind of on-demand information and service (as well as running campaigns).

I thought Richard's talk was the best so far, and his views on the future of media and the BBC couldn't be more timely. What interested me was the discussion about social media and politicians. The point was made that Obama could be "authentic" and work from the bottom up when out of government trying to get in. The big question is how can members of government interact honestly with the public once in power. Could then next crop of younger fresher ways become genuinely more collaborative, especially where policy formation is concerned?
